We offer two styles of training — Private Lessons for hands-on learning with you and your dog, and Board & Train Programs where your dog stays with us for immersive training.

Private Dog Training Services
Perfect for owners who want to be directly involved in the training process. We meet either at your home, in public, or at our facility for focused one-on-one sessions.
Our courses are perfect for teaching your dog essential skills, improving their behavior, and building good habits. Go-home and follow-up lessons are provided. All classes are taught using positive reinforcement to ensure an enjoyable and effective experience for dogs of all ages and breeds.
Puppy Training (8 weeks – 5 months old)
Length: 1 hour per session
Recommended: 3–5 sessions
Goals: Build foundation skills, prevent bad habits, socialize

About Our Trainer
Todd Owen
Todd Owen is the owner and head trainer at The Dog School, bringing a wealth of experience as a U.S. Military retiree and Law Enforcement veteran to the world of professional dog training. His background in service has given him a unique perspective on discipline, structure, and reliability — qualities that now shape the foundation of his training programs.
During his career, Todd served as an Explosive Detection K9 handler and trainer, working in high-pressure environments where precision and trust between handler and dog were critical. He has held multiple certifications through the North American Police Work Dog Association (NAPWDA) and the Certified Cargo Screening Program (CCSP) under the Transportation Security Administration (TSA). Todd is also an AKC Canine Good Citizen (CGC) Evaluator and a certified AKC Temperament Test Administrator, enabling him to both train and evaluate dogs to nationally recognized standards.
At The Dog School, Todd offers structured programs that range from puppy foundations and basic obedience to advanced training, behavioral modification, and specialized work. His balanced approach — combining clear communication, consistency, and proven methods — is designed to help dogs gain confidence and reliability while giving owners the tools to succeed at home and in public.
Having trained hundreds of dogs, Todd’s mission is simple: to transform problem behaviors into polished manners, to strengthen the bond between dogs and their families, and to help every owner enjoy the confidence that comes with a well-trained companion.
E-Collar Policy
All Board & Train programs—with the exception of the Puppy Program—include a take-home e-collar as part of the training package. For Private Lessons, an e-collar can be added upon request for an additional fee of $200.
