Founded by Kyle Jones and Ruth Ritchie, Hernando’s premier destination for exceptional pet care was inspired by our beloved dog, Lizzy, a Pyrenean Shepherd/Golden Retriever mix.

Our Story
In 2012, Lizzy became a cherished member of our family, igniting a long-held passion for animal care. With four large dogs and a flock of chickens, Kyle and Ruth have always been animal lovers. Kyle, a former CFO, transitioned from his corporate role to fully commit to Lizzys Luxury Lodge and Daycare and its guests.
Our Facility
Situated just one mile south of Hernando’s town square and five miles from the interstate, Lizzys Luxury Lodge and Daycare is conveniently located and uniquely positioned as the only facility of its kind in town.
Our property is adjacent to city amenities, including a dog park, skate park, and walking trails, offering ample opportunities for outdoor activities.
Our team prides itself on providing a luxury experience in a professional boarding facility, ensuring your pet’s comfort and well-being.
Meet the Family
- Lizzy: The inspiration behind the lodge, Lizzy is a 12-year-old Pyrenean Shepherd/Golden Retriever mix who loves making new pup friends.
- Buddy: A personable brown lab, Buddy joined our family at age 3. Our home was his third home. He’s a good boy who loves people (and chasing after tennis balls for hours on end).
- Toby: A 5-year-old Black Lab (and Buddy’s half-brother), we raised Toby from puppyhood. He loves people and other dogs and is excited to make new friends at Lizzys.
- Billy Jean: Half-Lab, half-German Shepherd, and all heart–Billy Jean has a big personality and loves being around her humans and other pups.
